During the first year of the Hyndburn’s Woodlands Phase 2 Project we have committed a lot of time to cleaning up Whinney Hill woodland, removing litter as well as a large amounts of fly-tipping.
This has been an incredible effort from the project’s team, and we are very grateful to everyone who has helped out along the way. The images below are taken from multiple sessions across multiple months, so you can see the extent of rubbish that was present at the start of the project.
We carried out another site litter pick on Tuesday 19th November 2024 and were very happy to say that only 5 big bags worth of rubbish were collected, indicating the overall litter has decreased markedly.
Thank you to all our volunteers who have helped us keep Hyndburn’s Woodlands clean, and thank you to our funders Lancashire County Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, and the Windfall Fund for supporting our work.
