Millennium Baby Woodland
This website is here to help you explore and improve Hyndburn’s woodlands and wild spaces.
Planted in the year 2000 to celebrate the millennium this woodland is owned by the Diocese of Salford.
Trees were planted with the names of babies born in the year 2000 from the local area.
The site was previously a field used for grazing livestock.
The site has a display plaque bearing the names of the now 294 babies born (and registered for the project) in 2000, with a tree planted for every registered child.
