On Tuesday 26th November the Hyndburn’s Woodlands Volunteers were back at Woodnook Vale carrying out some pathway maintenance.

This time, we worked at the lodge end of the vale, using spades and other hand tools to clear back encroaching vegetation. Around 150m of pathway was widened and maintained.

The session also highlighted the need to carry out some Invasive Non-Native Species management, in the form of Small-leaved Cotoneaster removal, which has likely escaped from nearby gardens. 3 large shrubs were identified and will be removed at a later date.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who helped us maintain Hyndburn’s Woodlands! As always, thank you to our funders at Lancashire County Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, and the Windfall Fund for making it all possible.
