The Hyndburn’s Woodlands Volunteers have been hard at work at Whinney Hill this past year, on top of removing the excessive amounts of rubbish present in the woodland, we have also been maintaining the infrastructure present.
We are happy with our progress thus far, we still do have much more work do with with pathways and fences but these will be scheduled in as soon as possible.
We have, so far, maintained one set of steps leading to the tops of the site, repaired a destroyed noticeboard, widened the entrances, and maintained and extended the butterfly glade, among other things. Please see below for a choice selection of the work we have carried out on the site.
As always, thank you to our incredible volunteers who assist us in protected Hyndburn’s Woodlands, we couldn’t do it without you!
Thank you also to our funders at Lancashire County Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, and the Windfall Fund for supporting our work.
