The Hyndburn’s Woodlands Volunteers have been carrying out maintenance work at Woodnook Vale LNR the past year, jobs done include clearing the Nuttall Street triangle from vegetation to improve visibility along with carrying out a litter pick as the site often accumulates a lot of rubbish. The Royds Street entrance has been cleared and widened to improve access.

We have also carried out work alone the bridleway to improve site access for horse riders.

Other, hopefully less reoccurring, jobs include delimbing hanging branches that have blocked site entrances.

Below you can see some photos of the work carried out alone the Vale.

There is still plenty to do, some portions of the bridleway still require a bit of maintenance and some information boards require a bit of a tidy-up.

As always, thank you to our volunteers for helping us maintain Hyndburn’s Woodlands.

Thank you also to Lancashire County Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, and the Windfall Fund for making this all possible.
