Today the Hyndburn’s Woodlands Volunteers were hard at work at Whinney Hill woodland. We moved the accumulated fly-tipping that has been picked over several sessions to a point for collection. The volunteers also used hand tools to remove invasive non-native Cotoneaster from the woodland, this will help provide more space for native species to grow.
Finally, the team finished off a Hawthorn hedgerow that was started a few weeks ago that will provide natural forage for our wildlife.
Thank you to all our volunteers who helped us out today, your efforts were greatly appreciated and we couldn’t do this without you!
